Siete Foods Tortilla Review

Who doesn't love a good Taco Tuesday? But honestly, I could eat tacos, burritos, nachos and quesadillas ANY day of the week. Unfortunately, wheat flour tortillas are out of the question, but most corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, so that's a plus. Siete Foods offers dozens of options for tortillas, chips, sauces and seasonings. According to their website, "Siete is a Mexican-American food brand, rooted in family, that makes delicious grain free products." So, not only are their products gluten-free, but they are also grain free which makes them perfect for anyone following a Paleo diet as well.

I decided that I wanted to give Siete tortillas a try, but they have so many options, I wasn't sure which one to get. Luckily, they offer a Mix Pack that includes two packages each of the Almond Flour, Cassava & Coconut and Cassava & Chia. I figured that covered all the bases and was a good place to start. Ordering and shipping where both easy, directly from their website.

Everything came in a SUPER adorable branded box, that was both padded and included an ice pack. All six packages of tortillas were cool and unharmed. I decided to put one package of cassava tortillas in the fridge for dinner and the rest in the freezer and use as needed. It has been a month or two now and we have finally tried all three flavors. The cassava was all of our favorite. I think because it most closely resembles a regular tortilla in taste and texture. It is super neutral and worked well with both tacos and quesadillas. I also liked it because it had the lowest calorie count and I could eat more of them. The runner up for us was the cassava and chia. Obviously very similar to the plain cassava, but had a little extra texture and flavor, as well as protein and calories. This flavor did well with quesadillas, but crumbled a bit with tacos. Last was the almond, I really liked the taste of this one, however, it did not hold up at all and crumbled very easily. It also was the highest in calories.

Overall, we enjoyed the Siete tortillas and will continue to use them. They were very easy to order, arrived quickly and were packed very well. I did think that they were a little expensive, as far as tortillas go, but they are made with high quality ingredients and are super nutrient rich. You get what you pay for. I feel like you could do so much with them. If you visit their website here they do have a recipes page that offers tons of ideas. Let me know if you give them a try!
